Childcare, personal development and health and social care courses

We are able to offer a variety of courses across the curriculum from taster and initial short courses to level three national vocational qualifications (NVQ).
Courses include:

• Children’s care
• learning and development
• teaching assistant
• play work
• youth work
• development and support services for children and young people
• and health and social care. 

We are also able to offer a variety of courses that support continual professional development. A selection includes:

• Level two award in support
• work in schools
• drugs awareness
• employment skills
• interpersonal skills
• assertiveness/confidence building
• and counselling skills.

Courses are delivered in a variety of ways in centres across Derbyshire; this may range from weekly attendance to more flexible work-based assessment.  
In addition, we have the expertise to tailor courses to suit the needs of employers. 

We are the Early Years Service preferred provider of NVQ’s throughout Derbyshire and experienced in delivering specialist courses for the Early Years Training Directory.

Many of our learners have progressed through local courses to achieve full level three qualifications and have gained employment within the council or Sure Start.
