Eco Centre Exchange
We are currently developing the Eco Centre Exchange an affiliation scheme for the Derbyshire Eco Centre project. and intend it to be It is a place to share ideas and expertise around learning for sustainability.
It was launched by Councillor John Allsop on 25 May 2011 and is now attracting applications from local people, artists, tutors and educators. The topics and skills that are important to the sustainability agenda are so many and varied that we can only hope to be experts in a few areas. We hope experts will join Eco Centre Exchange to provide the expertise we are lacking.
We want to share our expertise and learn from other experts who are committed to education for sustainability, such as:
innovators and designers
people from all walks of life with particular knowledge or interests
educators and academics
environmentalists, community activists or green business people.
We hope through the Eco Centre Exchange we will feed each others enthusiasm and knowledge base to improve the quality of sustainability education.
Ideas to be developed include:
exchange meetings (either virtual or actual) to showcase good practice
information and experience swaps of practical help to others in the exchange
sharing and exchange of resources.
We intend the exchange to be facilitated by people with an interest in the Eco Centre although not necessarily by our staff.
Affiliated groups scheme
As a step towards developing the exchange we are setting up an affiliated groups scheme.
This is open to organisations that demonstrate that they support the work of the centre. They will do this by offering experience, skills or time in helping to progress an agreed project or activity, that is a priority in the development of the centre.
Members of our affiliated groups scheme will be able to enjoy use of the Eco Centre facilities at a reduced rate.
Please contact us for more information or to share your ideas about the affiliated groups scheme or the Eco Centre Exchange.
