Education & learning
2006/2007 has proved to be our busiest year so far with the Centre fully booked for 90% of term time. We expect 2007/2008 to be even busier given the number of requests we have already received.
Lea Green continues to grow and develop, particularly as we enjoy the use of our many new and upgraded facilities. We believe that the quality and flexibility of our outdoor learning and residential programmes is reflected by the popularity of our courses.
It’s no secret that Lea Green continues to be the number one provider of residential courses in Derbyshire. We’ve achieved this by working in partnership with staff from schools and youth groups throughout the country to ensure that young people have a challenging, thought provoking and enjoyable residential experience.
Personal development through outdoor adventurous activities remains at the core of our courses. However, environmental education, field studies, sport and creative arts still continue to develop and feature regularly in our programmes.
Courses, whether residential or non-residential, are offered a wide variety of activities such as archery, orienteering, shelter building, low ropes, high ropes, climbing tower, problem solving, co-operative games, equilibrium challenge, arts, crafts and environmental projects as well as use of our excellent sports facilities. Recent improvements to the centre also mean we are accessible to participants with specific physical needs.
Additionally, residential courses have the chance to venture further afield and sample activities such as rock scrambling, abseiling, stream walks, night walks, canoeing or jungle adventures.
Prior to any visit to Lea Green you will have the opportunity to plan the content of your course programme with a Course Co-ordinator, so that aims and objectives, which are appropriate to the age, ability and needs of your participants, are met.
We are constantly aware that quality courses reflect quality partnerships and that programmes at Lea Green are often a small part of the wider work being done in schools and youth centres throughout the region. We hope that you see residential experiences as a key ingredient in the growth of your young people. Staff at Lea Green are keen to work with you to create programmes that both engage and challenge your young people.
We look forward to seeing you soon!

When you complete your booking forms it would be helpful if you could indicate 3 date options in order for us to maximise the use of the residential accommodation and to ensure that the groups who are sharing facilities are compatible. Please note that there are some extremely popular times, particularly the summer term, around the spring and autumn half terms and also Easter.
