Digital Derbyshire

We're working in partnership with Openreach and the UK government to lay hundreds of miles of fibre optic cable, bringing better, faster broadband to parts of Derbyshire.

Digital Derbyshire better faster broadband

It means thousands of homes and businesses can now order fibre broadband from an internet service provider of their choice.

Superfast broadband

Since its launch in 2014, Digital Derbyshire has made better, faster broadband available to more than 102,000 Derbyshire homes and businesses. Of these, more than 97,000 can now get download speeds in excess of 24Mbps - which UK government classes as 'superfast'.

By building on the commercial coverage already provided, we're aiming to bring superfast broadband to 103,000 properties across the county by the end of 2020 - with a further 12,000 not able to reach superfast speeds still able to get access to a high-speed connection.

Almost all remaining properties - where it's not possible to roll out fibre broadband - will have access to at least 2Mbps, which is part of the Universal Service Commitment (USC) via the Better Broadband Subsidy Scheme.
