Annual Report 2004/05

The Annual Report 2004-05 replaces the Best Value Performance Plan that the council produced every year between 1999 and 2004.

In March 2004, Central Government relaxed the reporting requirements of Local Authorities that had been in place since the Local Government Act 1999.

The purpose of this report is to provide a balanced overview of how the council performed during the financial year 2004/2005, and the priorities for improvement in 2005/06. The report focuses on:

  • the performance of the council in terms of its financial management and achievement of the council’s key goals

  • the performance of the council as measured by the views of the public and external organisations.
