Performance
Performance information is important as it enables us and the public to see how well we are delivering services and where we need to make improvements.
We are committed to continuous improvement to the way we work and the services we provide.
To help us achieve this we produce a performance report each June which covers the how we have performed that year and our priorities for the next year.
We also undergo a Comprehensive Performance Review, carried out by the Audit Commission, to measure how well we are delivering and improving our services.
Councils are rated with a star system between zero and four (with four being best) and at our 2006 assessment we were judged to be a four star council who was improving well.
The Audit Commission also produce an annual audit so we can keep track of how we are doing.
We also monitor our performance using local and national indicators across a range of services provided by the council and partner organisations.
