Long term vision and key themes

Working together to get better results and improving life through partnership working is the key aim of the Derbyshire Community Strategy.

The Sustainable Community Strategy sets out a vision for Derbyshire that aims: “For everyone in Derbyshire to enjoy a good quality of life, both now and in the future"

The Sustainable Community Strategy is a tool for partners delivering services right across the county and is very much a first step towards achieving this vision. All partners are working extremely hard together to meet this ambitious challenge and to get there we are focusing on the following four themes:

1. Safer and Stronger Communities

2. Children and Young People

3. Healthier Communities and Older People

4. Sustainable Communities

For each key theme the strategy highlights:

What local people have told us
Where are we now?
Where do we want to be?
How are we going to get there?
Partnership priority
How will we measure success?
