Local people’s views have been sought in a number of ways, including citizens panel workshops, a Derbyshire Residents Survey carried out by MORI as well as a competition in Derbyshire County Council's Insight magazine, delivered to all households in the county.
In developing the Strategy the work of the seven district based Community Plans have been used to help shape its direction and scope. The Derbyshire Sustainable Community Strategy focuses on those things that can best be done in partnership at a county level so that it does not duplicate the activities contained within local plans. However, the countywide strategy recognises the importance of many local, regional and national level plans and the overlap that may occur between them and this strategy.
The Strategy does not address all the concerns of local people or cover every aspect of all our partners work. It does, however concentrate on the highest priorities and sets targets that will help improve services. Individual partner organisations will continue to deliver services that are currently available and for which they are responsible and wherever possible links to existing plans and strategies has been made to show the breadth of work that is already being undertaken by partners.
The Strategy is very much a working document and will be reviewed and updated as often as is considered necessary by all the partners involved. All the organisations that have contributed to the development of this strategy will continue to be involved in the future.
