Derbyshire's Sustainable Community Strategy
The Local Government Act 2000 places a duty on all local authorities and their partners to produce a Sustainable community strategy that will help improve the economic, social and environmental well-being of their area. The strategy provides the blueprint for joint action by almost all the public, private and voluntary organisations in the county known as the Derbyshire Partnership Forum.
To make sure we're all working to the same end, the partnership has identified key areas where we can work together to improve services. By joining forces on common priorities for change and action, we believe we stand a better chance of improving the economic, social and environmental well-being of our county.
Derbyshire's Sustainable Community Strategy 2009-14 can be found in the related documents section. You will also find details of the consultation undertaken between September 2008 and January 2009 to develop this strategy. There are also copies of the equalities, rural and sustainability appraisals which were carried out on the draft strategy in May 2009.
