Hayfield's first woodland festival

30 September 2013

Campfire cooking, woodland crafts and a tour of Bluebell Wood Local Nature Reserve are among the highlights at Hayfield Countryside Centre's first ever woodland festival.

The event will be held at our Countryside Centre on Sunday 6th October, 10am − 5pm and admission is free.

Make a bird or bat box or a bug hotel, watch a wood carver at work or become an animal detective searching for clues scattered around the woodland.

Our Deputy Cabinet Member for Jobs, Economy and Transport, Councillor Andy Botham, said:

"The Hayfield woodland festival is a fantastic opportunity for the whole family to enjoy our beautiful countryside. This will be a fun-packed day of events in the great outdoors."

The National Trust, Derbyshire Wildlife Trust and the Derbyshire Ornithological Society will also be on hand to talk about their work to manage and preserve our wildlife.

More details about the Festival are available from Hayfield Countryside Centre on 01663 746222.
