Background papers and additional information
The following is information on background papers and additional information.- You can see the background papers for any report considered in the open part of a meeting both before and up to four years after the meeting.
- Background papers are documents containing information on which the report is based and has been relied on in preparing the report. They include letters, memoranda, other reports and file notes.
Additional publications:
We have prepared three other documents to comply with the Act. They are:
- The Register of Members showing their names and addresses, their Electoral divisions and membership of Committees and sub-Committees.
- A list of powers exercised by officers.
- A summary of public rights to attend meetings and inspect documents.
These are open to inspection between 9.30am and 4.30pm Monday to Friday at County Hall, Matlock through the Chief Executive's office.
- Anyone inspecting a document can copy it, or parts of it, or ask for a photocopy of the document or parts of it. If it involves photocopying we may make a charge. You may not infringe copyright.
- Apart from background papers, it is a criminal offence to obstruct anyone exercising rights of inspection or copying.
- If you ask to see background papers, the person who produced the list will get them ready for inspection. We will do this "as soon as is reasonably practicable". If we can't do it immediately, we will try to do it within 24 hours. You will usually be able to see papers at County Hall.
