Duty to involve

A new Duty to Involve comes into force on 1 April 2009.

This means that local authorities have a new duty to 'inform, consult and involve' local people, irrespective of where they live, work or play.

The duty seeks to ensure people have greater opportunities to have their say on any changes to services provided by local authorities and the development of their policies and strategies etc.
