Draft Transport Policy for Children and Young People
- Dates
- 22 August 2011 to 17 October 2011
- Stage
- Closed
- Topic
- Children and Young People, Health and Social Care
Aim
We have a duty to provide transport for some children and young people who are entitled to assistance, and discretionary powers to provide, or support with, transport for others.
The draft Transport Policy for Children and Young People and post 16 policy statement are produced for consultation so that children, families, schools and other interested parties can see the proposals we're making for provision of transport to children and young people in Derbyshire.
This draft policy includes the proposed policy for home to school transport, transport for young people aged 16 and over, and transport for vulnerable children and young people and those with special circumstances.
The draft policy has been informed by consultation, including feedback from children and young people, schools, parents and carers, and providers of transport services.
The draft policy and post 16 policy statement were approved for formal consultation by Cabinet on 2 August 2011, and the consultation period will run from 22 August to 17 October 2011. A report of the consultation results will be produced for Cabinet following the end of the consultation period.
This consultation is to obtain views from parents and key others on the draft policy and post 16 policy statement.
