What this consultation is about

This consultation is now closed. A report was presented to Cabinet, 25 March 2014, Agenda item 6 (opens in a new window).

Derbyshire County Council must reduce its expenditure by £157m over the next five years due to reductions in funding from central government.

In order to meet these targets we are reviewing all areas of expenditure. Home-to-school transport is one of a number of areas where savings are being considered.

This consultation set out the proposals by Derbyshire County Council to stop providing discretionary home to school transport to pupils attending denominational (faith) schools.

Information was provided on current provision, the proposed changes and answers to frequently asked questions on the proposals as well as how you can respond to this consultation.

Background information and a list of school can be found in the 'What else do you need to know' section, below.
