Aim
We, NHS Derbyshire County and Tameside and Glossop Primary Care Trust (PCT) have worked together with service user representatives who are disabled people or people with a sensory impairment, to produce a consultation document draft titled "Derbyshire Disabled People and/or People with a Sensory Impairment (Aged 18-64) - Joint Commissioning Strategy 2010-2014".
The main aim of this strategy is to show how the we, the PCT and other organisations will support disabled people and people with a sensory impairment in the future and how services will be developed.
Briefly, the issues identified come under the following headings:
- Employment
- training
- accessible transport
- access to leisure activities
- information
- advice
- supported advocacy
- access to a network of support 24/7
- equality of access
- timely access to appropriate services for all
- accessible housing
- timely access to provision of equipment
- opportunity to plan and purchase care
- to have a voice and influence
quality care and support.
We need your help to:
- Make sure we have got the plan right
- identify if we have missed anything, and
- decide what we should do first over the next 12 to 18 months.
