Community involvement - why get involved?

Are you concerned about issues that affect your quality of life?
Are you concerned about issues that affect your community?
Would you like to influence what is going on around you?
Do you find it difficult getting the information and services you need?
Do you have ideas that you would like to be heard?

If you answered yes to any of these questions you'll find that we have lots of ways you can get involved.

You can go along to your Local Area Committee (opens in a new window) to find out what is happening in your area, take part in the discussion, ask for information, or give your point of view. It's also a chance to meet other people and those representing groups in your area.

Other forums help us get the views of specific communities in the county.

For older people we have the 50+ forums and for minority communities the BME forums. For young people we have the Derbyshire Youth Council, school councils, and Young People's District Forums.

These are just a sample of the forums taking place in the county.

Or sign up to become a member of the Derbyshire Citizens' Panel where you will be asked to take part in regular surveys and meetings.

You can also take part in your local community forum. These are coordinated by the district and borough councils.
