Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Employee Network

The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender (LGBT) network  meets regularly and is open to all lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender employees.

The group hopes to be able to support and raise the profile of employees within the LGBT community especially with regard to matters relating to employment, as well as challenging discrimination in the workforce on the grounds of sexuality.

Some of the activities we have undertaken include:

  • LGBT History month

  • raising awareness of the 40 year anniversary of the part decriminalisation of homosexuality

  • encouraging the council to become a Stonewall Diversity Champion.

  • Supporting the council to meet its duties in relation to employment and goods and services

We'd especially be interested to hear from you if you feel unable to be 'out' at work and whether you'd appreciate a chance to meet other LGBT employees outside work time.
