Black and Minority Ethnic employee support group

Our Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) workers group helps to influence and monitor the council's policies.

The group supported a presentation at Chesterfield library to commemorate the bi-centenary of the act to abolish slavery and is helping to build on the initiative by incorporating this information into schools and libraries.
Elected Members were also involved in promoting and celebrating Black History month.
Our quarterly meetings provide a secure and confidential forum in which to discuss issues relating to BME employees and we'd like to hear from you if youwork for the council and want to be involved.
We try to hold meetings at locations throughout the county to help ensure everyone has the opportunity to attend.
