Equality and diversity in employment
We are committed to being a fair and supportive employer. One of our main priorities is to celebrate the county's diversity and work hard to ensure that fairness is at the heart of everything we do.
Our equality and diversity policy clearly sets out our commitment in more detail, including our undertakings in respect of recruitment and selection, the management and support of existing employees, and access to training and other development opportunities.
In order to improve how we engage with our employees we have three employee networks. These networks complement a range of ways in which we engage and consult with employees. They are important in helping us to understand the needs and experiences of employees from minority communities and they feed into the development of employment policy and practice.
All employees can contact the chairs of the employee network groups for confidential support, advice and signposting:
- for black, ethnic minority issues at work email: firstname.lastname@example.org
- for disability issues at work email: email@example.com
- for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender issues at work email: firstname.lastname@example.org
We are also a Stonewall Diversity Champion Employer and a Two Ticks Employer (providing support to disabled employees).
