Your council
I was elected on to the council in June 2009 and in addition to my role above, I’m a member of the Education and Young People Improvement and Scrutiny Committee.
I’ve lived in South Derbyshire for almost 50 years and my children have been educated in local schools.
Education for all ages is a very important issue as is health and care, which is why I’ve work for a number of years as a volunteer for an older people’s group.
I’m looking forward to representing and meeting as many of my constituents as possible during my time as your councillor.

I am always keen to get feedback, good or bad, on county council related matters so you can help shape what we do and how we do it, both now and in years to come. Young people can also make their voice heard through the council’s b_line (opens in a new window) site or by emailing youngpeople@derbyshire.gov.uk
You can also come along to any of Derbyshire County Council meetings which take place six times a year, usually on a Wednesday afternoon, at its headquarters in Matlock. You can either just watch the proceedings or you can ask a question. Details of how to do this are available here (opens in a new window).
I represent the council on a number of outside organisations or bodies
