Gill Farrington
I was elected on to the council in June 2009 and in addition to my role above, I'm a member of the Education and Young People Improvement and Scrutiny Committee and the Improvement and Scrutiny Management Committee.
I've lived in South Derbyshire for almost 50 years and my children have been educated in local schools.
Education for all ages is a very important issue as is health and care, which is why I've work for a number of years as a volunteer for an older people's group.
I'm looking forward to representing and meeting as many of my constituents as possible during my time as your councillor.

You can also come along to any of Derbyshire County Council meetings which take place six times a year, usually on a Wednesday afternoon, at its headquarters in Matlock.
