Your council
I was elected on to the council in June 2009 and feel very privileged to represent the people of the Linton ward, where I have lived with my wife June since 2002.
I am originally from North Wales and after leaving school I served in the Royal Navy for nearly 27 years. Since then I have worked with the National Health Service.
My wife was born and bred in Derby and we lived in Breadsall in the 1980s. We have two adult daughters, who both work in Leicestershire for the health service, and grandchildren.
I like to spend any spare time with our four rescue dogs and 4x4 off-roading, as well as carrying out all forms of DIY.
If you want to contact me about any aspect of Derbyshire County Council’s business or services you can do so by using the following details:
I hold regular surgeries before or after monthly Parish Council meetings; please ring to make an appointment:Linton, second Tuesday; Castle Gresley, second Thursday; Overseal, first Thursday; Overseal, to be advised.
I’m always keen to get feedback, good or bad, on county council related matters so you can help shape what we do and how we do it, both now and in years to come. Young people can also make their voice heard through the council’s b_line (opens in a new window) site or by emailing youngpeople@derbyshire.gov.uk
You can also come along to any of Derbyshire County Council meetings which take place six times a year, usually on a Wednesday afternoon, at its headquarters in Matlock. You can either just watch the proceedings or you can ask a question. Details of how to do this are available here (opens in a new window).
I represent the council on a number of outside organisations or bodies
