David Chapman

I was first elected on to the council in 1985 for seven years before returning in 2001, where I'm currently a member of the Regulatory Planning Committee and on the Education and Young People Improvement and Scrutiny Committee. I also represent the council on the Derbyshire Police Authority.
I was born and bred in Grassmoor and still live in the village where I first became a councillor and where I was Chairman of the parish council at the age of 26.
So I've a vast amount of experience, along with 30 years as a local government officer, which can be a great advantage when it comes to speaking up and working on behalf of those in the six communities I represent.
I'm still a member of St John Ambulance, which I joined as a child, and spend any spare time travelling around the world especially if it means I can mix it with my other passion - watching cricket and rugby.
