About me

I was elected on to the council in June 2009 where, as well as the above positions, I’m a member of the Pensions Committee. I’m also on the Communities, Culture and the Environment Improvement and Scrutiny Committee.

I’ve lived in the area for more than 20 years and I’m married with two adult children, both of whom are school teachers.

After leaving university in 1968 I worked in the private sector and occupied a number of board level positions before starting my own business in 2000.

I’m currently involved in the recycling industry and hope that this experience will prove of benefit to the council during the course of this administration, where I’ll be concentrating on local government finance, management and the use of resources.

I’m also very interest in corporate governance and standards in public life.
