About Me
I was first elected onto the council in 1993 and became lead member for Education and Schools in 1999, now called Cabinet Member for Schools. I have a passion to ensure every Derbyshire young person receives the highest quality education possible.
Locally I’m the Chair of Killamarsh Parish Council and a member of the Killamarsh Community Trust. I’m also a member of the Veolia (formerly SARP) liaison committee, which ensures the improvements at this site fought for by the community are maintained.
On a personal level, I’m married to Diane and we have two married daughters and two wonderful grandchildren. I’d very much like to hear your views on how we could improve Killamarsh and Derbyshire, or if you’d like to get in touch on any education issue.
Below you’ll find details of when I hold my surgeries, how to contact me and some of the issues relating this area. There’s also the chance for you to have your say, good or bad, on county council related matters so you can help shape what we do and how we do it, both now and in years to come.

| Surgery times | I hold regular surgeries on the second Saturday of each month, usually at the Killamarsh Adult Education Centre (CLOC), from 10.30am – 12noon. Have Your Say
|
I'm always keen to get your feedback, good or bad, on county council related matters so you can help shape what we do and how we do it, both now and in years to come. Young people may prefer to make their voice heard through the council's b line (opens in a new window) site or magazine. You can also come along to any of Derbyshire County Council meetings which take place six times a year, usually on a Wednesday afternoon, at its headquarters in Matlock. You can either just watch the proceedings or you can ask a question. Details of how to do this are available here. |
