Your council
I was first elected to the council in 1985 and was leader of the Liberal Democrat group from 1987 to 2009. I sit on the Planning Committee, the Sustainable and Safe Communities Improvement and Scrutiny Committee and represent the authority on the Peak Park Transport Partnership.
I’m also a Whaley Bridge Town councillor and was formerly a member of the Peak District National Park Authority for 14 years and the Derbyshire Police Authority for 13 years. I'm an active conservationist, a member of Derbyshire Wildlife Trust and of Buxton Musical Society.
If you want to contact me about any aspect of Derbyshire County Council’s business or services you can do so by using the following details:
I am always keen to get feedback, good or bad, on county council related matters so you can help shape what we do and how we do it, both now and in years to come. Young people can also make their voice heard through the council’s b_line (opens in a new window) site or by emailing youngpeople@derbyshire.gov.uk
You can also come along to any of Derbyshire County Council meetings which take place six times a year, usually on a Wednesday afternoon, at its headquarters in Matlock. You can either just watch the proceedings or you can ask a question. Details of how to do this are available here (opens in a new window).
I represent the council on a number of outside organisations or bodies
