Your council
I was elected on to the county council in June 2009 and, as well as the above position, I’m a member of the Regulatory Licensing and Appeals Committee and the Finance, Management and Regeneration Improvement and Scrutiny Committee.
I also represent the council on the Peak District National Park Authority and Joint Advisory body, and I’m a former High Peak Borough Council Mayor where I’m still a councillor for Dinting.
I’m married to George, who represents the neighbouring county council division of Glossop North and Rural, in an area where we have lived and brought up our two sons for 40 years. I’m also a trained chef and together we’ve run a number of hotel and restaurant businesses in the Glossop area where we still have a catering interest.
I enjoy working as a volunteer with the Glossop Community Transport and support many other local organisations within the volunteer sector, including the British Legion and the St John Ambulance.

You can also come along to any of Derbyshire County Council meetings (opens in a new window) which take place six times a year, usually on a Wednesday afternoon, at its headquarters in Matlock. You can either just watch the proceedings or you can ask a question.
I represent the council on a number of outside organisations or bodies
