About me

I was first elected on to the Council in May 2005 and took up my current position in June 2009.

This covers everything to do with children and young people, except schools, including   child protection, fostering and adoption, children’s homes, Early Years Education, Children’s Centres, the Youth Service and Youth Councils, plus other matters.

Prior to that I was the Shadow Cabinet Member for Children’s Services and sat on the Services for Children Improvement and Scrutiny Committee and the Audit committee.

I am also a councillor on Derbyshire Dales District Council for Tideswell and Chairman of Tideswell Parish council as well as a member of the Peak District National Park Authority.

I have three sons and live in Tideswell in an old house which I have recently renovated from being a former shop.
