Your council
I was first elected on to the council in May 2005 and became the council’s civic head in June 2009 as well as a member of its Regulatory Licensing and Appeals Committee. Prior to then I was Shadow Cabinet Member for Neighbourhood Services.
I’m also a councillor and former Mayor of High Peak Borough Council, a governor on Buxton Community School and a member of Buxton police community consultative group.
Locally I’m on the Board of Blythe House Hospice in Chapel-en-le-Frith, a Director of Vision Buxton, a Trustee of Whaley Bridge Carnival and a member of Burbage Charity finance committee.
I’m also a keen golfer and member of Cavendish Golf Club and, as a recently retired local company director, I’m well place to understand and share the concerns of local businesses.
If you want to contact me about any aspect of Derbyshire County Council’s business or services you can do so by using the following details:
I’ve an office in Buxton and can arrange to see people most days if there’s something you’d prefer to discuss face-to-face. Just contact me on the numbers given here to make an appointment.
I am always keen to get feedback, good or bad, on county council related matters so you can help shape what we do and how we do it, both now and in years to come. Young people can also make their voice heard through the council’s b_line (opens in a new window) site or by emailing youngpeople@derbyshire.gov.uk
You can also come along to any of Derbyshire County Council meetings which take place six times a year, usually on a Wednesday afternoon, at its headquarters in Matlock. You can either just watch the proceedings or you can ask a question. Details of how to do this are available here (opens in a new window).
I represent the council on a number of outside organisations or bodies
