George Wharmby

I was elected on to the council in May 2005 and I'm particularly proud to represent the area I was born in. I’m the council’s Shadow Cabinet Member for Adult Social Services and a member of its Services for Children Improvement and Scrutiny Committee.

I also sit on the council’s Regulatory Planning and Control Committee and represent it on the Peak District National Park Authority Joint Advisory group. I'm married with two sons and a grandson.

You can also come along to any of Derbyshire County Council meetings which take place six times a year, usually on a Wednesday afternoon, at its headquarters in Matlock. You can either just watch the proceedings or you can ask a question. Details of how to do this are available here.
