About me

I was first elected on to the county council to represent this ward in April 2004 during which time I have been a member of its Improvement and Scrutiny Committee for Resources and also a member of the council’s Standards Committee.

Prior to taking up my current cabinet post in June 2009, I was Shadow Cabinet Member for Community Safety for 18 months.

I am also an elected member for the West Hallam and Dale Abbey Ward on Erewash Borough Council, where I currently hold the post of Deputy Leader and Lead Member for Community Services.

I am also Chairman of West Hallam Parish Council and treasurer of the Magic Laser Cancer appeal, which purchases cancer related equipment.

I love sport and I am president of both West Hallam Football Club and West Hallam White Rose Cricket Club, and a lifelong season ticket holder of Derby County Football Club.
