About me

I was first elected on to the county council in 1997.  As well as being Chairman of the above Committee, I am also a member of the council’s Health and Adult Care Improvement and Scrutiny Committee and represent it on the Peak District National Park Authority and Joint Advisory body.

I am also Chairman of the council’s Standing Advisory Council for Religious Education (SACRE) and a Derbyshire Dales District Councillor for Bakewell, where I have been Mayor of the town three times.

Locally I am involved in many organisations and serve as President of both Bakewell’s St John Ambulance branch and the Bakewell District Club for the Disabled, and as Vice-president of the Royal British Legion Ladies section.

I am also Chairman of Bakewell Community Interest group, Chairman of Derbyshire Dales Community Forum, a member of Bakewell Responders and a former governor on three schools in the town.
