About me

I was born in 1971 and elected on to the council in May 2005, making me one of Derbyshire's youngest county councillors and the youngest County Council Leader in the country.

As well as serving as Leader of the Council, I am the Cabinet Member for Culture and Chairman of the Derbyshire Partnership Forum. I sit on the East Midlands Regional Assembly and represent the county council on the Local Government Association.

In addition I am a Derbyshire Dales District Councillor for Ashbourne South and serve as  Chairman of the Southern Area Community Forum.

As well as the county council outside bodies listed below, I am a director or committee member of the following public interest bodies: Derbyshire Historic Buildings Trust,  Ashbourne Gateway Youth Centre, Ashbourne Safer Neighbourhood Team, Marston Safer Neighbourhood Team, Hulland Safer Neighbourhood Team and the Ashbourne Partnership.
