About me

I was elected on to the council in 1993 and became its full-time leader in June 2001, Chairing its policy-making Cabinet meetings. Locally I’m involved with many organisations including Chair of the Markham Vale Liaison Committee, a partnership involved with Derbyshire’s biggest regeneration scheme that’ll bring thousands of jobs to this area. Below you’ll find details of how to contact me and some of the issues relating to this area. There’s also the chance for you to have your say, good or bad, on county council related matters so you can help shape what we do and how we do it, both now and in years to come.

Have you say

I'm always keen to get your feedback, good or bad, on county council related matters so you can help shape what we do and how we do it, both now and in years to come. Young people may prefer to make their voice heard through the council's b line (opens in a new window) site or magazine.

You can also come along to any of Derbyshire County Council meetings which take place six times a year, usually on a Wednesday afternoon, at its headquarters in Matlock.    You can either just watch the proceedings or you can ask a question. Details of how to do this are available here.
