About me

I was elected on to the council in May 2005 and sit on its Regulatory Licensing and Appeals Committee and Services for Children Improvement and Scrutiny Committee. My cornerstone values are education, care for the environment and Christianity, supported by my 30 year teaching career, establishment of an environmentally-themed radio station and long-term membership of St Thomas Church, Brampton. I’m a cabinet member on Chesterfield Borough Council and a regional board member of a charitable housing trust.   Below you’ll find details of when I hold my surgeries, how to contact me and some of the issues relating to this area. There’s also the chance for you to have your say, good or bad, on county council related matters so you can help shape what we do and how we do it, both now and in years to come.

Have you say

I'm always keen to get your feedback, good or bad, on county council related matters so you can help shape what we do and how we do it, both now and in years to come. Young people may prefer to make their voice heard through the council's b line (opens in a new window) site or magazine.

You can also come along to any of Derbyshire County Council meetings which take place six times a year, usually on a Wednesday afternoon, at its headquarters in Matlock.    You can either just watch the proceedings or you can ask a question. Details of how to do this are available here.

Outside Bodies

I represent the council on a number of outside organisations or bodies
