I was first elected on to the council in May 2005 where I'm currently Shadow Cabinet Member for Communities having at one time been Cabinet Member for Community Safety.
 
I also sit on the council's Communities, Culture and the Environment Improvement and Scrutiny Committee, its Audit Committee and represent it on the Derbyshire Combined Fire Authority.
 
Locally I'm also a councillor for Blackwell on Bolsover District Council.
