About me

I was first elected on to the council in May 2005 where I’m currently a member of the Education and Young People Improvement and Scrutiny Committee and the council’s Regulatory Licensing and Appeals Committee.

I’m equally at home in Pinxton and South Normanton where I’m likely to be popping to the shops or enjoying a pint and a chat. This means that I’m aware of local sensitivities, issues and needs  -  helping me to help you.

I have a particular interest in Education and sit on the governing bodies of four local schools, namely Frederick Gent, Kirkstead, Longwood and John King.

If you think I can help you, please get in touch.  I’ll always do my best to help.

I’m a member of South Normanton Parish Council so you can always catch me at these meetings; although I’d rather you contact me whenever you need me.

I am always keen to get feedback, good or bad, on county council related matters so you can help shape what we do and how we do it, both now and in years to come. Young people can also make their voice heard through the council’s b_line (opens in a new window)  site or by emailing youngpeople@derbyshire.gov.uk

You can also come along to any of Derbyshire County Council meetings which take place six times a year, usually on a Wednesday afternoon, at its headquarters in Matlock.  You can either just watch the proceedings or you can ask a question. Details of how to do this are available here (opens in a new window).
