About Me

I was elected on to the council in 1997 after 32 years as a secondary school teacher. I’ve been involved in local politics both in Bristol and Derbyshire since the 1960s and I’ve served as a school governor and parish councillor. I’m also currently leader of Heanor and Loscoe Town Council. Below you’ll find details of when I hold my surgeries, how to contact me and some of the issues relating to this area. There’s also the chance for you to have your say, good or bad, on county council related matters so you can help shape what we do and how we do it, both now and in years to come.

Contact Me

If you want to contact me about any aspect of Derbyshire County Council’s business or services you can do so by using the following details:
At County Hall 01629 585077
Home Phone 01773 711420
Surgery times I hold surgeries in different parts of the constituency to try and make it as convenient as possible for people to see me. There’s no need to make an appointment, just drop in. The time will vary depending how busy it gets, but I’ll be there for at least an hour. You can find out where and when by looking for adverts in the local papers and through notice boards throughout the area. I shall also be holding “street” surgeries from time-to-time in different parts of the area. Or see details here of how else you can get hold of me.
Address 3 Mansfield Rd, Heanor, Derbyshire DE75 7AQ

Have Your Say

I'm always keen to get your feedback, good or bad, on county council related matters so you can help shape what we do and how we do it, both now and in years to come. Young people may prefer to make their voice heard through the council's b line (opens in a new window) site or magazine.

You can also come along to any of Derbyshire County Council meetings which take place six times a year, usually on a Wednesday afternoon, at its headquarters in Matlock.    You can either just watch the proceedings or you can ask a question. Details of how to do this are available here.
