Your council
I was elected on to the council in June 2009.
As well as the above position I’m a member of the Finance, Management and Regeneration Improvement and Scrutiny Committee and sit on the Investment Committee.
I also represent and the council on the Derbyshire Combined Fire Authority, of which I am Chairman.
I’m also Mayor of Amber Valley, represent Belper Central on the borough council and a former Belper Town councillor. Locally I’m a member of the Herbert Strutt Charity Joint Management Committee and an independent director of the Belper Leisure Centre Trust.
I’ve been married to Susan for more than 20 years and for around two decades I have sung in two choirs, where I’ve particularly enjoyed travelling with the Orrishmere Singers around many different cathedrals.
Other interests include cricket which I played as a schoolboy for Derbyshire and which I now enjoy as a spectator.

You can also come along to any of Derbyshire County Council meetings (opens in a new window) which take place six times a year, usually on a Wednesday afternoon, at its headquarters in Matlock. You can either just watch the proceedings or you can ask a question.
I represent the council on a number of outside organisations or bodies
