Peter Makin

I was elected on to the council in June 2009 where, as well as the above positions, I'm a member of the authority's Finance, Management and Regeneration Improvement and Scrutiny Committee and sit on its Investment Committee.
I'm also Mayor of Amber Valley, represent Belper Central on the borough council and a former Belper Town councillor. Locally I'm a member of the Herbert Strutt Charity Joint Management Committee and an independent director of the Belper Leisure Centre Trust.
I've been married to Susan for more than 20 years and for around two decades I have sung in two choirs, where I've particularly enjoyed travelling with the Orrishmere Singers around many different cathedrals.
Other interests include cricket which I played as a schoolboy for Derbyshire and which I now enjoy as a spectator.
