Chris Jackson

I was first elected on to the council in May 2005 and, until I took on my current cabinet role, I was the Shadow Cabinet Member for Environmental Services.
I am also a council representative on the Peak District National Park Authority Joint Advisory group, and I am a previous member of the council's Sustainable and Safe Communities Improvement and Scrutiny Committee and I have been a Derbyshire Combined Fire Authority representative.
As well as being Chairman of my local Divisional Road Transport Forum I am also a governor on South Wingfield Primary School ,Chairman of Crich Quarry Liaison Committee and a member of Cromford Quarry Liaison Committee.
For more than 30 years I was a Derbyshire police officer before retiring as a. Police Inspector. Since then I have been the English National Director of a rural issues lobbying group, with particular responsibility for police liaison, rural crime, anti-social behaviour, farming and rural employment.

You can also come along to any of Derbyshire County Council meetings which take place six times a year, usually on a Wednesday afternoon, at its headquarters in Matlock.
