About Me
I was elected on to the council in May 2005 and sit on its Sustainable and Safe Communities Improvement and Scrutiny Committee and represent the council on the Derbyshire Combined Fire Authority. I was a Derbyshire police officer for more than 30 years before retiring as Police Inspector. Since then I’ve been the English National Director of a rural issues lobbing group, with particular responsibility for police liaison, rural crime, anti-social behaviour, farming and rural employment.
I’m a governor on South Wingfield Primary School and former Chairman of South Wingfield Parish Council. Current concerns in my division include the state of our rural roads, satisfactory public transport and policing, and threats to our environment and the dairy industry.
Below you’ll find details of how to contact me with the chance for you to have your say, good or bad, on county council related matters so you can help shape what we do and how we do it, both now and in years to come.

I'm always keen to get your feedback, good or bad, on county council related matters so you can help shape what we do and how we do it, both now and in years to come. Young people may prefer to make their voice heard through the council's b line (opens in a new window) site or magazine. You can also come along to any of Derbyshire County Council meetings which take place six times a year, usually on a Wednesday afternoon, at its headquarters in Matlock. You can either just watch the proceedings or you can ask a question. Details of how to do this are available here. |
