How can I get involved?

Improvement and Scrutiny Committees are open to the public and you can listen to the debate and discussion.

Meetings are generally held at County Hall, Matlock although on occasions as work requires they are held in other venues.

Can you suggest topics to review?

The county council welcome suggestions for topics of inquiries from members of the public, interest groups or businesses.

Consultation

Improvement and Scrutiny may ask your views on an issue or you may be invited to be a witness in a scrutiny review if you have specialist knowledge in a subject area.

If you consider that you have knowledge of a particular subject area or information that would be useful to an Improvement and Scrutiny review, please contact the Improvement and Scrutiny Team

What Scrutiny does not do?

Scrutiny doesn’t deal with individual queries, concerns or complaints.

If you are not satisfied with a service you have received from the county council then please use the complaints procedure.
