Council tax

Council Tax helps to pay for the services provided by all the local authorities in the area including the district, borough or city council, Derbyshire Constabulary, Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service and the town or parish council where you live.

The money collected from council tax pays for many of the services provided by us and other local councils and authorities.

It is a locally set tax that is charged on domestic properties, based on property values in April 1991.
