Citizens' Panels
The Citizens' Panels in Derbyshire are operated on a district basis as a partnership between Derbyshire County Council, the district councils and Derbyshire Constabulary. Panel members are recruited by a postal questionnaire, and are asked to take part in regular surveys and focus groups. Most panels are run in-house by the district councils, and some are run by the county council.
There are eight district based panels in Derbyshire, with 1000 residents on each panel. This creates a county panel of 8000 residents.
Residents complete around three or four questionnaires per year on a range of local issues.
