A three minute call between 6am and 6pm will cost 10 pence for BT customers. This is based on BT charges of six pence for connection and the first minute of your call and two pence per minute thereafter.  Calls between 6pm and 6am attract the six pence connection charge and are charged at 0.5 pence a minute thereafter. 

Our call centre ‘Call Derbyshire’ is open between 8am to 8pm, Monday to Friday and 9.30am to 4pm Saturdays to provide you with a speedy and direct response to many of the enquiries we most commonly receive.

Our main aims are:

  • To offer you a high quality service and a more customer-focused approach.
  • To extend our opening hours so it's easier for you to get in touch.
  • To speed up our response to your calls.
  • To provide you with an easy 'one stop' telephone point.   

Our call centre staff are your frontline contact with the council. We have selected them for their excellent customer care skills, their working knowledge of the council, and their willingness to help solve your problems. You will find them friendly and helpful at all times.

The customer care assistant who takes your call will ‘own’ your enquiry and will do everything possible to ensure you receive the information and help you need.

If your customer care assistant needs to take professional or specialist advice in order to help you, they will arrange to call you back at a time convenient to you. If any follow-up action to your enquiry is needed, your customer care assistant will pass on the information on your behalf.
