We sustain three civic twinning agreements with:

Toyota City, Aichi Province in Japan

Yangpu, Shanghai in China

Aims and benefits of international links

The aims and benefits of international links include:

  • To increase tourism and economic development opportunities.

  • To exchange experience and best practice in terms of strategy, policy and development.

  • To promote cultural exchange, broaden minds and enrich the lives of citizens.

  • Enhancement of youth activities, educational projects and exchanges: to equip youngsters for life in a global society and to give them a work ethic to fit into the global economy.

  • To promote tolerance and understanding whilst creating friendships by increasing global awareness.

  • To improve language skills.

  • To form long-lasting friendships around the world.
