*Customer feedback* We would NOT recommend Terry Green T Green Ltd builders and here is why: We have previously gutted two houses using a variety of traders and consider ourselves as experienced in dealing with builders and trades people. We had a number of communication issues with this trader which in hindsight started pretty much from the off. His overall figure to do the full works requested was in line with others, but we had to ask him to cease work half way through the job after he started to raise his estimate for the flooring element despite his original quote being for the exact flooring supplied and an attempt to bill us extra for a skip I'd placed an old BBQ on top and said I'd remove it if it was a problem . He also said he'd bill us for some extra ply at cost, but would not give us a copy of the requested receipt. On receiving the final completion invoice we realised the price was exorbitant for what was actually done and so we asked in writing for a reasonable breakdown but he has in writing! steadfastly refused to do this. We also have emails from him chasing down payment note his language: quote "pay your debts" well inside his own stated terms. Our usual builder who couldn't fit the job in has fortunately come to our rescue to finish the job off as inclement weather means he now has space. He has though pointed out several areas of poor workmanship that was done by Terry Green. We would NOT recommend Terry Green Builders. Happy to take trading standards through the job, correspondence etc. *Traders reply* My business has been operating for 40 years serving Business and Domestic Customers locally. As a Trusted Trader we have an extensive portfolio and continue to build a large customer base. I welcome all feedback from this association and totally support what Trusted Trader stands for. Reputation being everything and the cliché that you are only as good as your last job, I comment here to a recent post from Mr. X. The Estimate was accepted with provisional costs on the basis that Mr and Mrs X did not agree on the choice of new flooring. Once the work started the chosen floor and fireplace changed adding cost. A revised estimate was provided to create clarity. All our estimates state VAT will be added in line with HM Customs Vat regulations. At this point Mr X suggested a settlement negotiation which was not acceptable. Soon afterwards we received an e mail instruction to cease work and leave site. We cleared all tools and building waste, the skip previously supplied to site was collected the same day. The invoice we raised was for completed work to the point we left. Mr X rightly says we charged extra for the skip. This was because it had been filled by customer with a concrete fence panel, discarded carpet and Bar-B-Q. Over half its capacity was used by the customer so justifiably charged. The work was done during November. We do aim to provide the receipt for unused 'Ply' left on site as requested. With the Christmas interruption this has not yet been received from our supplier who invoice us each month end. The invoice has been settled in full by Mr X with the exception of 5% plus VAT, which we assume has been retained pending production of the requested paperwork. Customer satisfaction is our priority and managing the Customer Experience is paramount. We are deeply sorry that Mr X feels it necessary to post such a negative review in light of the full circumstances and almost full payment made so promptly.
