Information for customers

We know that finding the right trader can be a big worry.

We’ve all heard stories about cowboy builders, dodgy workmen and rip-off merchants.

Complaints procedures

If a problem crops up, you can register your concerns by telephoning Consumer Direct (opens in a new window) on 08454 04 05 06

If a solution to a customer complaint cannot be found, and the consumer is agreeable, Derbyshire trading standards will offer to mediate.

To ensure this, Derbyshire trading standards may want a written statement from both parties.

Where a complaint cannot be resolved by mediation, Derbyshire trading standards may recommend arbitration through a trade association if appropriate, or court action.
