Grants to luncheon and old peoples clubs

We only provide grants for people to attend genuine organisations concerned with the establishment and management of clubs for aged and disabled people. They must be open to any resident of the area who is of pensionable age or disabled.

Our contribution is against expenditure on rent and/or rates, heating and lighting, cleaning and caretaking, renewal of equipment and transport to and from club meetings (not outings).

Members and officers of the council shall be entitled to visit and inspect the premises when open to club members who receive grant aid.

  • Clubs are invited to apply for a grant each year - an application form is sent direct to the Club Secretary.

  • The most recent statement of accounts should accompany the completed application form.

  • The amount of grant approved is based on expenditure incurred during the previous financial year.  The contribution should not normally exceed 50% of approved expenditure and the frequency of opening dictates the maximum amount payable.

The levels during the 2007/08 financial year are:

  • Clubs open full time £346.00

  • Clubs open three days per week £206.00

  • Clubs open less than three days per week £103.00

Your district council will usually pay a grant equal to that paid by us.

The club will be expected to agree to the Standard Conditions for all organisations who receive financial assistance from us.

Application forms are obtainable by either writing to the:
