GRANTnet service
Are you looking for a grant or funding for your organisation? GRANTnet is the UK's leading free-to-use funding database.
To assist local organisations in their search for funding we have taken out a subscription to GRANTnet. This allows you to search the database which contains over 4,000 funding opportunities from United Kingdom and European Commission sources.
GRANTnet is a user-friendly free to use service which has been devised to assist community and voluntary groups, sports and other clubs, schools, social enterprises and small businesses in identifying funding opportunities for specific projects.
Get started on GRANTnet (opens in a new window) or continue reading this web page for more information about the service.
Using GRANTnet
Once you have registered with GRANTnet, you will be emailed a password which will allow you to gain access.
Having logged into the system, you answer a few simple questions about your organisation and the project which you wish to undertake.
GRANTnet will then provide an overview of all the schemes available.
The results of your search will be also be sent to us. Where you have indicated that you would like extra help, we will contact you.
We may also forward your details on to relevant voluntary and community group support agencies who can provide a wide range of guidance to assist you in applying for grants. By supplying your details on signing up for GRANTnet you agree to them being sent to us and us passing them forward to other organisations to support you.
A few tips to get you started
What is it?
This is a searchable database of organisations that give grants, awards, venture capital, loans etc.
GRANTnet does not provide money directly nor guarantee a successful application.
It is free to use as many times as you like
It is a starting point in the search for funding to support your project
This edition of GRANTnet is unique to Derbyshire County Council and tailored to this area.
At present you can not save data from searches within GRANTnet.
How to get the best from it:
If you are a new user visit the 'FAQs' and 'Help' areas before you begin.
Do not expect an instant success
Take time to think laterally when picking activities to describe your project.
Make repeat visits, funding information changes regularly.
Use both narrow (detailed) and broad (less detail) search criteria
Try to see your project as others would (ask a friend how they would describe it)
Amend your search if you get too much or too little information
Check the details of the search results carefully − like all database searches some results may be irrelevant!
Got the search results you need but need help to move on and apply for a grant? A copy of The Beginners Guide to Successfully Securing Grant Funding is available to download from the GRANTnet website. GRANTnet does not do this. Your local Council for Voluntary Services (opens in a new window) (CVS) may also provide help with the bid writing process.
Remember:
This is a database of grant sources. It does not give grants directly
Each organisation supports different projects and activities
Application for a grant is a competitive process
Grants are given by people to people
Help with applying for grants is available. Try your local Council for Voluntary Service (CVS) (opens in a new window)
