Broadband champions - a voice for your community

There is currently a huge variation in the level of broadband availability and speeds across Derbyshire.

  • We are keen to work with local people to bring fast and reliable broadband to Derbyshire and a key part of this is the recruitment of broadband champions.

Broadband champions are volunteers who we are supporting to:

  • spread the word about the Digital Derbyshire programme in their towns and villages

  • help gather information about broadband speeds

  • highlight demand for better broadband in their community

  • help residents and businesses understand how they can benefit from superfast broadband.

Our launch event, which took place in January 2012, was well attended and a number of people have stepped forward to take up the role − providing a voice for their community as our plans progress. You can see a copy of our presentation at the event in the related documents section of this web page.

To contact your broadband champion or to find out more about the role email us at broadband@derbyshire.gov.uk. A guide to the role of broadband champions is also available in the related documents section of this web page.
